Agriculture has always been at the core of both the Ritter family and the family businesses. Ernest Ritter, the founder of the company, moved from his family’s farm in Iowa to manage a timber and sawmill operation in Poinsett County, Arkansas in 1886. From the beginning of the sawmill business, he acquired, cleared and farmed substantial landholdings. Mr. Ritter and his wife, Anna, also established other businesses for landowners, tenants and residents across Northeast Arkansas, including a mercantile store, ice plant, cotton gin, telephone company and others.

Ritter Agribusiness Holdings, Inc. is still family-owned and is one of the most well-known and respected agricultural businesses in Arkansas and the Delta region. With a management portfolio of over $200 million, the Ritter asset management team brings experience and excellence in overseeing diverse agricultural assets ranging from specialty crops such as berries, flowers and others to traditional commoditized row crops such as soybeans, rice, cotton, corn and wheat.
